Global Consumer Spending in Mobile Apps Reached a Record $111 Billion in 2020, Up 30% from 2019

In 2020, global consumer spending on Apple's App Store and Google Play reached nearly $111 billion, a 30.2% year-over-year increase from $85.2 billion in 2019.
The App Store accounted for $72.3 billion (up 30.3%) and Google Play $38.6 billion (up 30%).
Mobile games generated $79.5 billion, representing 71.7% of total spending, though their share slightly declined due to growth in entertainment and social apps.
First-time app installs hit a record 143 billion, up 23.7%.
Notably, TikTok (including Douyin) earned $1.2 billion on iOS, while Google One led on Android with $444 million.
Among games, Honor of Kings topped iOS with $2.5 billion, and Coin Master led Google Play with $799 million.
Game installs surged to 56.2 billion, with Among Us and Garena Free Fire being top downloads.
