COVID-19 Contact Tracing Apps Reach 9% Adoption In Most Populous Countries

Jul 26, 2020·5 min read

Since March, government-endorsed COVID-19 contact tracing apps in 13 populous countries have been installed by about 9.3% of residents, according to Sensor Tower.
Australia's COVIDSafe leads with 21.6% adoption, while Germany's Corona-Warn-App, launched in June, quickly reached 10.4M downloads (14.4% of population).
India's Aarogya Setu has the most total downloads at 127.6M but only 12.5% adoption due to large population.
The Philippines' RC143 has lowest adoption at 0.2%.
Experts say no exact percentage defines success, as any augmentation of contact tracing benefits pandemic response.
