Top Streaming Apps Worldwide for July 2020 by Downloads

By Julia Chan·Aug 4, 2020·2 min read

In July 2020, Netflix was the most downloaded streaming app worldwide, achieving over 20.1 million installs.
The United States accounted for 15.2% of these downloads, while Brazil contributed 11.3%.
YouTube ranked second with more than 18.7 million installs, led by the US (22.5%) and India (8%).
The top five also included Amazon Prime Video, YouTube Kids, and Twitch.
These rankings are based on data from Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence platform, which estimates downloads from the App Store and Google Play between July 1 and July 31, 2020.
The estimates exclude Apple and Google pre-installed apps and report only unique installs.
Android figures do not include third-party stores, and aggregates consider all app versions, such as Facebook and Facebook Lite.
For comparison, the previous month's rankings for June 2020 are available separately.
This data helps advertisers and marketers understand global app download trends and regional preferences, enabling more targeted campaign strategies.
The dominance of Netflix and YouTube highlights the strong demand for streaming content, with key markets in the US and emerging economies like Brazil and India.
