Promotions may now be administered on Page Timelines and in apps on Facebook, but not on personal Timelines.
The update also emphasizes the need for accurate tagging in promotions: Pages cannot tag or encourage users to tag themselves in content they are not actually depicted in.
For example, asking users to submit names for a new product in exchange for a prize is allowed, but asking them to tag themselves in pictures of a new product for a prize is not.
These changes aim to help businesses run promotions while maintaining content accuracy and integrity.
