A new generation of ads for the AI era of Search

By Keyword Team·May 20, 2026·3 min read

Google is leveraging Gemini models to create more helpful ad experiences in Search, especially in AI Mode.
Two new ad types are being tested: Conversational Discovery ads that answer specific user queries with tailored creative, and Highlighted Answers that appear among AI-generated recommendations.
Additionally, AI-powered Shopping ads will generate custom explainers for products, and Business Agent for Leads will enable real-time chat interactions.
These ads include independent AI explanations for transparency.
Google also expands Direct Offers with promotion bundling, native checkout, and travel expansion to surface relevant deals.
The goal is to help consumers make faster, more confident decisions.
