We Analyzed 20,000+ Real-Money Casino Ad Creatives. Here’s What We Found.

By Scott Reyburn·Sep 3, 2025·5 min read

In June 2025, an analysis of thousands of video ad creatives in the real-money casino category across APAC, EMEA, and the Americas identified creative features that impact installs per 1,000 impressions (IPM).
Global boosters include on-screen text visuals (e.g., opening with a large text block conveying benefits), home environments (kitchens, living rooms), text message UI to tell stories about bonuses or wins, user POV gameplay showing the game from a player's perspective, interactions between two or more people for authenticity, and explicit legitimacy assurances like showing withdrawal flows.
Global draggers are 'Play Now' CTA buttons (which feel pushy), previews of future levels (adding complexity), skill-first framing (increasing perceived effort), and seasonal imagery (appearing promotional).
The LIFTS framework (Layout, Imagery, Featured Talent, Tone & Message, Storytelling Style) is introduced to systematically evaluate creative elements.
Three concepts are suggested: a message-first video ad using on-screen text and trust cues, a playable ad simulating real gameplay with a visible win, and a simple layout focusing on one key visual.
The findings aim to help marketers optimize video ad performance.

Driving Conversions in RMG: What Today’s Best-Performing Creatives Teach Us About Casino vs. Sportsbook Success

RMG creatives must segment users into Active, Casual, and Inactive player types. Casino ads thrive with longer videos (30-53s) showing gamified visuals and big wins, while Sportsbook ads need short, offer-first videos (27-30s). Key formats are portrait orientation and banner sizes 300x50/320x50. Avoid short videos without value, landscape orientation, and hype-heavy testimonials. Top competitors like Chumba Casino and FanDuel use UGC, clear offers, and localized relevance to boost conversions.
